How to make Hokey Pokey

Method:

Equipment 

• 5 teaspoon of sugar 
• 2 teaspoons of of golden syrup 
• Half a teaspoon of baking soda 
• Pot
• Bunsen burner/equipment (stove at home if you make it at home)
• Spatula 
• Baking paper

Instructions

1. Get your equipment.
2. Wash your hands.
3. Add your sugar and golden syrup to your pot.
4. set up your Bunsen Burner (or stove).
5. Use a blue flame.
6. Melt then boil the sugar.
7. Turn off the gas.
8. Add the baking soda and mix.
9. tip out the Honeycombe onto baking paper.
10. Let it cool.
11. Clean up your equipment.

Business and Enterprise T4

 hello readers

The past weeks we did a business and enterprise and i will describe most of it on here.

Me, Tyler and Bryce were a team and our name was the bright work  which we painted rocks.

we painted 25 rocks and all we ordered was paint brushes and 2 box's of acrylic paint.

here are some photos of the rocks.

i painted all of these. 

Tyler and Bryce painted these rocks.

left was only 10 rocks left with (i think) 10 tokens.

we did it on Wednesday and it went really well.

Making Ginger beer T4

 Aim:

I want to find out how to brew ginger beer.

Research:

Method:

Equipment

• Plastic cup 
• Pen
• Powdered Ginger 
• Water
• Sugar 
• Spoon
• Lemon juice
• Yeast

instructions

1. Get your equipment.
2. put your name on a plastic cup.
3. Put half a teaspoon of ginger into the cup.
4. Add half a cup of water.
5. Add one tablespoon of sugar into the cup.
6. Mix with a spoon.
7. Add five drops of Lemon juice. 
8. taste it and adjust the flavor. 
9. Add one quarter of a teaspoon of yeast.
10. Let it brew for 1 week. 

Results:

It tasted like vomit (was not very good) and look disgusting like poo.

Discussion: 

The yeast is a living thing that will try and eat the sugar because it loves glucose and when it does it will release carbon-dioxide and alcohol. also us humans breath out carbon-dioxide. and 1 more fact about yeast it really warmth places.

Tyler, Bryce and Kamen's Healthy Food Menu

 Hello readers today and yesterday in health Tyler, Bryce and I worked together to make a weekly healthy food menu. It tells you a lot of the healthy food for the week and all of the food is protein/carbs/grains/dairy/ fat/ veg & fruit this is some of the food that's in here: weet bix, tacos, sandwich, eggs on toast, smoothie, salad, meat pies and a roast. I really hope you like this it is really good menu for the week. Goodbye now. 

pH Colours

I want to find out what the colours of pH are.

• Acid-Hydrochloric 
• Base-Sodium Hydroxide 
• Test tubes rack with test tubes 
• universal indicator 

instructions:

1. Get your Equipment 
2. but 10 drops of universal indicator 
3. Add different amounts of acid and base into the test tubes 
4. watch what happens to the colours

When two or more substance combine, they create one or more new substance, which sometimes have different molecular structures from the original substance, meaning they absorb and radiate light in different ways, leading to a colour change.

how do you measure acid levels?

Red litmus turns blue in basic solutions, blue litmus turns red acidic solution, and neutral litmus (usually purple) turns red acidic solutions and blue in basic solutions. To find the specific pH of a sample, you will need pH test paper or strip that is more precise than a litmus strip.

what is an acid?

A substance with particular chemical properties including turning litmus red, neutralizing alkalis, and dissolving some metals; typically, a corrosive or sour-tasting liquid of this kind

 

Making Sherbet

Aim: i want to find out how to make sherbet 

Research:

Method 

• Equipment
• Baking soda
• Citric acid 
• Raro 
• Popsicle stick 
• water

• instructions

1. mix the baking soda, Raro and citric acid together with a Popsicle stick.
2. keep tasting it so it can turn into sherbet and if it does not taste like sherbet then keep mixing it. 
3. if it taste like sherbet then put it in water 
4. drink it and WA LA

 Results:

when you mix the powder it will make different taste like a sour from the critic acid and when you put it in water it would foam. 

Discussion. 

why did it foam?

The fizzing foam that the sherbet makes when it touches the tongue is a result of a very simple chemical reaction when mixing all the powder together when putting water with the powder it has carbondioxide and that's what makes it foam.   

Henri Rousseau Art-Term 4 Foreground, Middle Ground and Background + Art work facts

 Today at art Term 4 we did some paintings from Henri Rousseau and labelling the things about how Henri made his paintings. It roughly took about 20-30 minutes. I hope you like it.

1. Henri Rousseau was inspired by the jungle and made 123 paintings. 

2. Henri's first painting was Carnival Evening.

today we made in art a foreground, middle ground and background with pencils and we had to make a whole colourful art work i really hope you like it.

Hot Chilli

Aim:

I want to find out the best way to cool down your tongue after eating hot chilli.

Method:

Equipment 

• Hot Chilli Sauce
• Popsicle stick 
• Drinks - Soda, Water, Milk 
• Timer

instructions

1. Get your equipment ready.
2. Get a drop of hot sauce on your Popsicle stick. 
3. Lick the Hot Chilli sauce.
4. Start the timer. 
5. After 2mins, drink your drink. 
6. After 5mins, how hot is your mouth? 
7. Repeat the experiment but with a different drink.

why does chilli burn your mouth?

peppers contain alkaline,  a oil-based molecule called capsaicin, which makes the temperature-sensitive pain  receptors in your mouth and produces the heat. 

art term 4 Henri Rousseau jungle printing

 today in art term 4 we started learning about Henri Rousseau. we watch a 6 minute video twice to find some facts about him. Henri was a world-famous painter. He died in 1910 by Gangrene from a leg blood clot.this is what Gangrene does and killed Henri.

2021 Book Review Term 2

 Today i will be showing the book that we read hope you enjoy

1. The name of the book is holes and the person that wrote it was from Louis Sachar.
   
   
2. The book was about these shoes falling out of the sky and hitting a boy named Stanley. And he starts running and the cops found him and took him to court and had two choices go to jail or go to camp green lake and he picked camp green lake. And then Stanley got to camp green lake and then there were these boys named X-Ray, Squid, Magnet, Armpit, Zigzag and zero and then a teacher came up to Stanley and said welcome to camp green lake. And said rules but about 3 days later zero and Stanley ran away because i don't know but they came back to dig one more hole and they find a chest. and then the warden and Mr sir came to the hole but yellow spotted lizards came out of the chest and then 1 day goes past and they are sitting down and the people that came to pick up Stanley. And the warden lied to the people that wanted to pick up Stanley and Stanley and zero stood up and they went home.
3. my favourite character is zero because he is one of the main boy in the story and he went all the way to the end.
4. i enjoyed the book because it was pretty fun to read with my class.
5. the same things from the book and the movie was the sunflower seeds and the thing that was removed was when there was yellow spotted lizards in there camp. 
6. i enjoyed the movie because there was a lot of action and story's about Kissing Kate Barlow.
7.  i would recommend the book to my friends and family because i think they would like it.

2021 Term 2 Reflection

for term 2 i did art, chemistry science, wood tech, and hurumanu.

i will tell you about wood tech because i have made a reflection on science and art.

for wood tech we made a Bluetooth speaker we painted it and built it up.

1. my term 2 highlight was making a lot of stuff at science.

2. my challenge was for wood tech because it was hard soldering the wires but i finally got it 

 and got the wires on. 

3. art, chemistry science, wood tech, and hurumanu. art we did a stop motion clay movie about a zombie apocalypse. Chemistry science we made milk plastic, coke and mentos, gummy bear in water over night, putting fire on our hands and many more 

4. my goals for term 3 is getting my work MORE faster so i can blog it sooner and getting more work 

i hope you liked this i will probably be doing another reflection in 10 weeks reflection in 10 weeks about japan, drama and food tech goodbye 

Mentos and Coke

 Aim: 

I want to find out what happens when you drop Mentos into a coke bottle.

• Coke, Coke no sugar, Sprite 
• Mint Mentos
• Detergent 
• Beakers 
• Safety glasses 
• Measuring cylinder 

Instructions:

1. Get you equipment
2. Put your safety glasses 
3. Pour some coke in a beaker with 30 mill
4.  pour the detergent to the ten mill line

 Hello people today i will tell you about my Hurumanu 3 term reflection shaping up we did alot of fun things and i hope you like them because they were pretty fun to do.

Shaping up

Milk plastic

Aim: 

I want to find out how to turn milk into plastic

Milk plastic 

Equipment:

Bunsen burner 

measuring cup 

measuring spoon (tsp)

Milk 1 Cup

container

white vinegar 

paper towels

spoon 

mug

cookie cutters, glitter, food colouring for decoration 

instructions:

1. Pour one cup of milk in a Beaker.
2. Heat the milk on a Bunsen burner.
3. Add four tsp of white vinegar.
4. Add the hot milk into the mug with the vinegar.
5. Stir the mixture with a table spoon or any other type of spoon.
6. Stack four layers of paper towels on the surface that is safe to not get damp.
7. Scoop out the curds with a spoon and place them on the paper towels.
8. Fold the paper towels over the curds and press down to absorb excess liquid.
9. Knead all the curds together into a ball of dough.
10. Colour, shape or mould the dough as you like.
11. You can colour your dough with food colouring.
12. You can add glitter to make the dough sparkle.
13. You can use cookie cutters to shape your dough. 
14. You can sculpt the dough with your hands. 
15. Put all your creations on a paper towel and let them dry overnight. 

Skittle Colours

 Aim:

I want to find out what happens when you put Skittles in water.

Method:

Equipment:

• 8x Skittles
• warm water
• Petri dish 
• beaker 
• paper towels 

instructions:

1. Get your equipment.
2. Put the Skittles into the Petri dish.
3. Spread them out around the sides.
4. clean the beaker.
5. GENTLY pour the water in the middle of the petri dish so that its half full 
6. Observe what  happens. 

Results: 

                                                            this was a really fun experiment to do 

Results: the Skittles the skittles go in  warm water starts to make the colours. dissolve and the colours and spreads around the Petri dish and all is left after the experiment it turns all white and the sugar water is vary good. The warm water also makes it kinda crystallised and floats around the Petri dish. 

PE term 2 reflection

 hello everyone today i'm going to tell you about my PE term 2 reflection we have done 3 things. 

We did some soccer that was my favourite one to play with 2 of our games we won with my team and it was really fun to play. 

we also did hockey i didn't like to play that one it was fun but not my favourite we play lots of fun games tho. 

this week we did volleyball it was really fun to do we first did some practise games, games, some fitness and some other stuff.

next week will be netball i have not played netball before so that will be interesting.
